My life is Yours

Dear God, I realize now how far I had strayed from thee. I see that I had taken my life into my hands and said "I have it all figured out, I know what my life will be...". Oh, how wrong I was Lord. You laughed softly, and with a tear in your eye said "Oh Maryssa, sweet Maryssa.  That isn't how life works. I see into eternity and I know the plans I have for you". I know that when I cry, you cry. When I feel lost, you send angels to guide and protect me. I am sorry that I stopped turning to you. I'm sorry that I thought I knew better than you. I don't, Lord. I really don't. Father, I am grateful you gave me these three wonderful years with my husband. I am grateful for the stability of our home, and our finances. You knew I needed that stability for this period of my life. As life changes drastically for us both, I pray that we will be guided to greener pastures. Lord, help me to come safely back into your fold. Embrace me with your ever ...

Believe Him

I was sitting at church today and I saw a sign on the wall that said "Believe Him". Normally they say "Believe in Him" so I had to do a double take and read it again. Believe Him . Believe Him about what? I believe in God and Jesus Christ. I believe that He is my Savior and Redeemer and that He suffered and died for me...so Believe Him about what? Believe Him when He says He loves you. When He says you are His child. When He says that you are his lamb and he will search for you until He finds you. Believe Him when he says that you are precious in His sight. Believe Him! We believe in Christ...but do we truly Believe Him? I think that is the key, because until we Truly Believe Him...we will never be able to rise to our full potential, because we won't have the belief in ourselves...but if we Believe Him, then we will also believe Him when he says We are children of God with the potential to become like Him. We are of Infinite Worth...because He Said so . ...

Proverbs 31:10-31

I know every Christian Woman has heard these scriptures...the ones about a virtuous woman. But do we really understand them? I didn't. So this is my interpretation of them. *They don't reflect anyone elses opinions. 10. Who can find a virtuous woman? She is rare and beautiful. 11. Her husband trusts her; he can depend on her. 12. She will do good all the days of her life. In this context, do good things for her husband. 13. She isn't afraid of work, and she uses high quality products..? 14. She brings her food from afar...? Seeks healthy, good food maybe. 15. She gets up early to take care of her friends and family. 16. She is a business woman, she can think on her own and buy land and works to cultivate it. 17. She strengthens her muscles. She is also strong when it comes to chastity. She knows her worth. 18. She knows that what she has to offer is good! Her light shines even in the dark. 19. She creates and works with her hands. 20. She gives to the poor and ...

We did not marry in the temple

I am a Mormon, and my husband and I did not get married in the temple...but we got there as fast as we could! Here's why. We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary earlier this year. How times flies! Being married to my best friend has helped me learn what God's plan is for his children. I am more in love with this man than I ever thought possible and I KNOW that Heavenly Father wants us to be able to spend forever with each other...not "till death do us part". We were both raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. But unlike many, we did not marry in the temple. We made choices that prevented us from being married there. BUT we worked very hard this past year so that we could go back and be sealed as soon as we could. It took time, tears, a lot of prayer, and our wonderful bishop of our church to help us. June 3, 2017 Micah and I had our marriage sealed for time and all eternity in the Twin Falls Idaho temple. It was the best day of our lives...

Save it were the Power of God...

My thoughts tonight come from The Book of Mormon in the book of 1 Nephi chapter 18 verses 17-20. Preface: Nephi's older brothers are prideful and angry with him so he gets tied up. God sends a storm that threatens to sink their ship until they choose to untie Nephi and repent of their wickedness. 17 Now my father, Lehi, had said many things unto them, and also unto the sons of Ishmael; but behold, they did breathe out much threatenings against anyone that should speak for me; and my parents being stricken in years, and having suffered much grief because of their children, they were brought down, yea, even upon their sick beds. 19 And Jacob and Joseph also, being young, having need of much nourishment, were grieved because of the afflictions of their mother; and also my wife with her tears and prayers, and also my children, did not soften the hearts of my brethren that they would loose me. 20 And there was nothing save it were the power of God...could soften their hearts; where...
I had a recent conversation with a close friend about Faith and Fear. This person was stressing about the future and feeling worry and wondering if things would work out the way he was wanting them to. He was struggling and feeling overwhelmed. This is what I shared with him. Faith CANNOT exist where there is fear and worry. God says over and over again to "Be not afraid, only believe." and "ask in faith and it shall be given you." These phrases are repeated quite often in the scriptures.  God wants us to place our faith in Him. He has promised that when we chose Faith over Fear, then He will be with us, He will bless us, and He will answer our prayer. I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES. I ASK for Miracles. I have learned two things through my trials growing up. 1. God WANTS to bless us. 2. When I choose Faith, God takes care of me :) I want to invite you, the next time you feel overwhelmed worrying about the future, take a deep breath and ask for a Miracle. T...

God's Accuracy - Beautiful

I didn't write this, I got this forwarded to my email by a friend. God is Aware of Our Lives. When GOD solves our problems, we have faith in HIS abilities; When GOD doesn't solve our problems HE has faith in our abilities. God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs. . . . . -those of the canary in 14 days; -those of the barnyard hen in 21 days; -eggs of ducks and geese in 28 days; -those of the mallard in 35 days; -The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days. (Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days in a week!) God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant. The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other quadruped is so made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily. The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs fir...
