Proverbs 31:10-31

I know every Christian Woman has heard these scriptures...the ones about a virtuous woman. But do we really understand them? I didn't. So this is my interpretation of them.
*They don't reflect anyone elses opinions.
10. Who can find a virtuous woman? She is rare and beautiful.
11. Her husband trusts her; he can depend on her.
12. She will do good all the days of her life. In this context, do good things for her husband.
13. She isn't afraid of work, and she uses high quality products..?
14. She brings her food from afar...? Seeks healthy, good food maybe.
15. She gets up early to take care of her friends and family.
16. She is a business woman, she can think on her own and buy land and works to cultivate it.
17. She strengthens her muscles. She is also strong when it comes to chastity. She knows her worth.
18. She knows that what she has to offer is good! Her light shines even in the dark.
19. She creates and works with her hands.
20. She gives to the poor and needy.
21. She makes sure her family is clothed and has their needs met.
22. Her clothing is of fine material, she is well dressed. I imagine this means she makes sure to look her best. Also, purple is the sign of royalty, so this infers that she is of royal birth. A daughter of the Most High King.
23. Her husband is known when he sits with the elders. Maybe this means she talks well of her husband so that people know him and his good works.
24. She makes fine products and sells them. She is crafty and a business woman.
25. She surrounds herself with strength and honour.
26. She speaks with wisdom and kindness.
27. She takes care of her house and avoids idleness.
28. Her children love her, and her husband praises her!
29. Many are virtuous, but thou excellest them all. Don't get cocky now ;)
30. Beauty is vain, but a woman who loves the Lord will be praised.
31. Show her the works of her hands, show her all those she has helped and the good she has done. Her good works will speak for her when she enters heaven.
So, I know that we aren't perfect all the time, but I hope I can convey how I feel about this. Women have been portrayed as weak and needy a lot of times. Or so dependent on others for their needs to be met. But this woman that the Bible describes, she is far from weak and needy! In fact, she is strong! She buys good land, she takes care of it, people speak highly of her.
Never make yourself small because you think that is how you should act. You are far more powerful than you think! You have so much strength, kindness, talent, ingenuity than you can possibly imagine! So, rise up and be that woman! Be that woman that you know you can be. You are brave, strong, powerful, and loved by the King of Kings!

Silent Cries Need Addressed

Depression, Anxiety, Suicide...There are so many ideas and words attached to them. I am not going to claim I know what it is like to want to kill yourself...but..I would like to share some thoughts and ideas that have been accumulating in my head since the suicide of a very close friend just a month ago yesterday... Sigh....The day before he went through with it, he spent that evening with a group of friends (I wasn't with them that day) and from their accounts, they said he was happy. Totally fine...they had no clue. -I heard from one person, "They are happiest right before they carry through because they know the pain is about to end.." I don't know if that is true or not. So, Many people don't know this, but I was very much involved this last year of his life trying my best to be his friend and help him get through the darkness he felt. -Some days I would get a text or call from him telling me he wasn't safe. I would then proceed to call him...

Debate vs. Decide

Whenever I am faced with a challenging decision, such as what my major should be, or what to do about certain individuals, I tend to use the term "Debating". I am "debating" in my mind whether I should do such and such major or I am "debating" what to do about a certain boy for instance. Well, a friend of mine brought up the realization that humans now-a-days seem to use debate far more often then the word "Decide". Why does it matter? Well because debate is a back and forth argument that may or may not ever come to a conclusion. Where as deciding forces one to come to a conclusion. Example! For a while I have been "debating" on what I should major in. There is no commitment in that statement! So I signed up for a career exploration class and so far, it has been helping me reach more narrowed conclusions as to what I am interested in. I still am not sure but I am trying to decide. Example # 2! This guy I know...well I met him up h...
I had a recent conversation with a close friend about Faith and Fear. This person was stressing about the future and feeling worry and wondering if things would work out the way he was wanting them to. He was struggling and feeling overwhelmed. This is what I shared with him. Faith CANNOT exist where there is fear and worry. God says over and over again to "Be not afraid, only believe." and "ask in faith and it shall be given you." These phrases are repeated quite often in the scriptures.  God wants us to place our faith in Him. He has promised that when we chose Faith over Fear, then He will be with us, He will bless us, and He will answer our prayer. I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES. I ASK for Miracles. I have learned two things through my trials growing up. 1. God WANTS to bless us. 2. When I choose Faith, God takes care of me :) I want to invite you, the next time you feel overwhelmed worrying about the future, take a deep breath and ask for a Miracle. T...
