Debate vs. Decide

Whenever I am faced with a challenging decision, such as what my major should be, or what to do about certain individuals, I tend to use the term "Debating". I am "debating" in my mind whether I should do such and such major or I am "debating" what to do about a certain boy for instance. Well, a friend of mine brought up the realization that humans now-a-days seem to use debate far more often then the word "Decide". Why does it matter? Well because debate is a back and forth argument that may or may not ever come to a conclusion. Where as deciding forces one to come to a conclusion. Example! For a while I have been "debating" on what I should major in. There is no commitment in that statement! So I signed up for a career exploration class and so far, it has been helping me reach more narrowed conclusions as to what I am interested in. I still am not sure but I am trying to decide. Example # 2! This guy I know...well I met him up h...

Ya Can't Win It All!

How in the world is one suposed to be happy if one is always focussed on pleasing everyone else?! Been having a pretty rough day...homework piling up and then having a hard time with a really close guy friend. I hate it when I can't help someone be happy...especially when they are unhappy because of something that you did. :(  My Good Friend sent me that picture quote just kinda reminding me that I can't please everyone, as much as I would like to, it just won't happen. It is a tough concept for most people to grasp, especially girls, but tis very true.  When we are focused on pleasing everyone else, we will forever be miserable. FACT. Yes, serve others, and try to put a smile on everyone's faces that you meet, but if you can't, don't sweat it.  That is my thought.

Observations about Singles Ward Home Teachers

So, Today has been really tough. I have been drowning in homework and Been kind of struggling with a friend of mine. I honestly have been on the brink of tears all day. :/ So here is what happened. I have been really feeling the need of a guy hug. They really are one of the greatest things ever... So my new home teachers showed up tonight. One guy is 18 and Im guessing that the other is 22. So they were just really caring and kind to me. Giving me words of encouragement and such. And when they left I got a hug from both of them! Granted I dont know them super well but it just gave me the comfort that I needed to keep going. I have several hours of homework left for tonight..so I feel a bit better. It is nice to have new friends that get to be there for me when I am struggling :) Thanks!

BYU I Do

Well, My First observation consists of my first experience with the college life. I'm 18, just graduated and headed to one of the leading marriage schools in the US (the world?). WITHOUT FAIL, everyone that I have told about college will give me a look and mention something about getting married in my first semester!!! One Friend of mine gave me 3 months...ugh. Not that I am against getting married, I think it is wonderful and ordained of God, but enough is enough sometimes! I kept telling everyone I was NOT getting married...in fact I wasn't going to go on dates, I was going to not even flirt with guys. That was that. I was going to prove everyone wrong. ........................................................ The first couple days of college was "Get Connected". Basically they helped all of us Freshies get acquainted with campus and meet new people and such with orientation. That was soo much fun!! and the Talent Show was incredibly epic! I had a blast at the ...
